Conventional intraocular lenses have a simple so-called spherical optic. These spherical IOLs produce optical faults called spherical aberrations.
Light rays passing through different areas of the lens optics are not combined in one focal point. Light scattering leads to reduced visual quality and adversely affects visual contrast, especially in poor light conditions.
The ASPIRA®-IOL is equipped with a high-quality, aspherical lens optic. State-of-the-art manufacturing technologies enable improved image quality of the IOL for a clearer, more high-contrast visual impression. Especially under unfavorable lighting conditions, this is a clear advantage for the patient as it increases safety at night when driving, for instance.

ASPIRA® provides all patients with improved visual performance regardless of the individual characteristics of the surface of their eye. The aspheric monofocal premium IOL is also available with a blue light filter to protect the sensitive retina from the high-energy part of the spectrum in daylight.
The ASPIRA® is a single vision lens that gives you brilliant distance vision. However, you will still need glasses to read. Multifocal IOLs (that is multiple focus lenses), such as the TRIVA® make reading glasses unnecessary.
