Our strength as an innovation driver can be traced back through our company history. We have been manufacturing intraocular lenses for almost four decades and are regarded as a pioneer in the development and production of toric IOLs.
Close cooperation with users, surgeons, and medical specialists is one of the cornerstones of our success. The experience gained directly from practice forms the basis for the high degree of benefit the use of our implants delivers.
An example that illustrates our customer and patient-oriented strength in innovation is the globally unique iris implant CUSTOMFLEX® ARTIFICIALIRIS. This iris prosthesis for treating patients with injured or missing irides was recently awarded breakthrough device status by the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration). “Breakthrough device” recognizes products considered to be groundbreaking. This status was introduced to accelerate market access for new medical products and technologies. In the context of the approval, the FDA is committed to providing rapid market access for the CUSTOMFLEX® ARTIFICIALIRIS to meet urgent medical needs. Through the performance of our special custom implants we have achieved a leading position in the market among IOL manufacturers and can also ensure the care of patients with special requirements. This has enabled us to develop and manufacture a toric IOL with a cylinder value of 40.0 D – a world record!

Outlook for patient – INDIVIDUALIZED IOLs
With the INVIDUA® we set a new standard in the treatment of cataracts! Our technological know-how enables us to produce a patient-specific IOL that individually corrects the spherical aberration of the patient’s eye. We calculate the optimal IOL surface from numerous measuring points and manufacture the IOL individually for each patient using the high-precision Sub-nano resolution technology. This enables us to support patients with the highest visual performance demands!
Outlook Aspira-aXA
The ASPIRA-aXA represents a real product innovation in terms of pseudophakic, preventive patient management. It will thus make a key contribution to the early detection of a large number of ocular diseases.
